Our standards
- Evidence first. Health-related statements are based on published research (for example on PubMed or PMC) or on guidance from established bodies such as the American Academy of Dermatology or the US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
- Say what kind of evidence it is. A result in a cell culture or in rats is not proof that a product works on human skin. We label the type of study whenever it matters.
- No disease claims. Cosmetic gels are not medicines. We never claim cactus gel cures, treats or prevents any disease.
- Labels over marketing. When we discuss products we look at the ingredient list (INCI), not the slogan on the box.
- Clear corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date on the article.
Affiliate independence
Affiliate links never decide what we recommend. We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage. See the affiliate disclosure.
